In tribute to maestro Omar Geles. "A maestro's legacy never fades; it becomes an eternal inspiration."
The backpacks carry with them a legacy of the Arhuaco indigenous people; each weave holds a meaning based on elements of nature, mythologies, or the thoughts of the person who weaves it, which is why each one is unique.
Blago values ancestral knowledge through work done 100% by hand using sheep wool and intervening with leather of the highest quality, which makes them more versatile, without losing sight of the fact that the main piece is always the Arhuaco backpack, as a tribute to women who culturally are the ones who weave, taking into account that backpacks (tutu, in Arhuaco), are the representation of the maternal womb that contains everything.
Other notes on Arhuaco backpacks:
- To extract the natural colors, we grind the tree bark, the processes are carried out manually, caring and connecting with Mother Earth.
- The leather handle, long or short, was always designed with the versatility of the person carrying it in mind.
- Making backpacks is a tradition that is passed down from generation to generation.
- Each of the fabrics is a tribute to the culture and identity of our country
